For the last decade, we've edited over 60,000,000 photos, for thousands of photographers, across all genres, styles, and approaches.

That is why PHAiTO feels different. We built the tool we wished we had in 2018–19, when our team was cranking out millions of images each month. Something simple & accurate, shaped by real editing experience.

PHAiTO was built by the team behind Image Salon, after years of working inside the real pressure of post-production. We spent years helping photographers get through large galleries, meet tight deadlines, evolve with new styles, and the constant challenge of keeping galleries consistent from start to finish, from one order to the next.

PHAiTO did not start as a generic Ai idea. It started inside a company that was already helping photographers deliver well-edited, consistent images. Our editors, mainly artists & photographers in Montreal, worked 1:1 with each photographer, creating strong relationships that often lasted years. As a team we've worked across millions of images, with photographers who trusted us with their post-production workflows.

PHAiTO's engine is built on a decade of high-caliber editing and retouching expertise. It's designed to accelerate a photographer's workflow, not replace it — by taking over the trivial task of making basic adjustments, straightening, cropping, and fine-tuning, without taking over the creative & artistic touch only a human can bring to their art.

We Built the Tool We Wished We Had.

Over the years, we often found ourselves wishing our computers understood the work we were doing, and would just take over. Turns out we weren't that far off. While simple as a concept, training an engine that would understand all of the intricacies of photography would prove to be a big endeavour.

And without funding or a large team (and also a pandemic in the mix), it has taken us some time to get here. But we have, and we truly believe in the impact PHAiTO could have on a photographer's post-production workflow.

PHAiTO was trained on over 1,000,000 real-world, professionally edited images. It wasn't built by engineers taking a guess at aesthetics. It was educated by editors who understand skin tones, dynamic lighting, full gallery consistency, real wedding timelines, and volume portrait workflows.
